C Grade Men's Weekly Write Up

The Angle Vale Foxes Men’s C Grade play in Division 2 Sunday League and are looking to push themselves into a solid Division 2 team for the 2023 season. Here we will write up and breakdown the weekends games and provide a link to our Youtube page with the games highlights.

League Round #18

Angle Vale Foxes C Grade vs Para Hills United

Date: 10th September 2023

Location: The Den

The C Grade started of the Sunday’s games infront of our sponsors in style with a massive turn around against a team that smacked the foxes first time round 7 – 1. This time the Foxes would come away 3 – 0 winners and dominate the game from start to finish and end their season on a high in front of a massive crowd at The Den.

The game would start well for the Foxes with the ball being controlled by the Foxes and the chances being made just not converting their half chances on goal.

But that would change when a Corey through ball would find the perennial goal scoring pest Callum who would beat the keeper to the ball and finish past the stranded keeper.

This would bring his season tally up to 22 goals and a personal record for him after an excellent season in the C Grade and across some of the Saturday teams.

A half time team talk would install further confidence in the Foxes to go on and finish the game in style

Corey would soon double the lead with some slick build up play from the Foxes that would lead him on goal where he would make no mistake scoring past the Para Hills keeper.

The Foxes would further control the game and It would be from a Para Hills goal kick that would put them straight back under pressure with Aidan heading the ball in the path of Callum who would scramble for the ball which would eventually land outside the box and a sweet first time hit from Aidan would catch the keeper of guard and despite getting half a hand to the shot it wouldn’t be enough which would see the shot bounce of the inside of the post and in the goal.

This would be his second long range effort of the weekend and a great end to the season for Aidan.

The game would be wrapped up by the Foxes with the final whistle coming and ending the Foxes good year where they finished up 5th on the table with a positive season and some valuable experience for some of the youngest Foxes in the club.

Goal Scorers

Corey Powell – 1 Goal

Callum Beddall – 1 Goal

Aidan Jones – 1 Goal

It was a tough year for the C Grade who came up against some very difficult opponents throughout the season and always had a different team on the park. Part of the joys of having 5 teams meant a lot of the boys would play multiple games over the weekend and would dedicate a lot of their time to the club.
It was a great season for the C Grade who managed to give lots of young players valuable game time and prepare them for the trials of Sunday Division 1 next year.

League Round #17

Angle Vale Foxes C Grade vs Seaford Rangers

Date: 3rd September 2023

Location: Away

The foxes would head away for a late kick off against Seaford Rangers and with a depleted team and a starting 11 only the Foxes would dig deep and pull out a massive 6-3 win with Callum continuing his amazing scoring form scoring 3 goals more goals.

The foxes would kick start their day in perfect fashion with goal keeper Michael sending a massive kick down field where the opposing keeper would fumble the ball into his own net. Do we classify this as a Michael goal or an Own Goal, we will let the people decide.

But it was a great start to the game and gave the Foxes a buffer early on but it wouldn’t take Seaford long to get a goal back and draw things level.

The Foxes would settle down and start to move the ball around like they have been working on this season and a through ball from Ruan would set up Callum to get his first goal and almost a direct mimic of the first goal Ryan would setup Callum again for his 2nd goal.

It would be the young up and comer Riley who would give the Foxes their 4th goal before half time.

The 2nd half would cause big problems for the Foxes with a huge head wind causing the foxes problems playing anything in the air.

This would cause problems for the Foxes who tried to play out from the back and they would concede because of it. But the Foxes would find the feet of Callum once again and he would get his Hat-trick goal and reset the gap between the 2 teams.

In the dying minutes of the game a Foxes corner would find Lachlan Howard at the back post and would header the ball into the net despite closing his eyes.

The final part of the game the foxes would concede one final goal but overall, it was an excellent performance for the depleted foxes coming away 6-3 winners.

Goal Scorers

Callum Beddall – 3 Goals

Lachlan Howard – 1 Goal

Riley Joslin – 1 Goal

Michael Hardy – 1 Goal

The Foxes are back at home this weekend and will be looking for a much improved game against para Hills United after their 7-1 defeat at their ground first time round.

League Round #16

Angle Vale Foxes C Grade vs FC Cove

Date: 27th August 2023

Location: The Den

What a huge win this was for the Foxes and a gallant effort from The Cove FC who struggled to field a team and went out there with 9 men and fought all day.

The foxes would come away 8 – 1 Winners with an absolute masterclass of goals put on by inform striker Callum.

The game would start with the Foxes with the advantage with FC Cove unable to name an 11-player team so they took the field with 9 players.
And surprisingly they scored first giving them a boost in confidence and voice out on the field, this would annoy the Foxes and kick start the day with captain Ryan picking his team up and it wouldn’t take long for the foxes to get back level with Callum continuing his scoring form.

It would be a day of great goals and big performances and Callum would be at the forefront of this game eventually scoring 4 goals on the day and the standout of the lot would be a first-time volley that would hit the far top corner leaving the poor FC Cover keeper stranded.

The foxes would score some well worked goals with Calab finishing off a great bit of team play and young Lucas getting on the score sheet again bagging 2 goals of his own.

And finally, another new up and coming Fox Amer would get on the score sheet before his reserves debut.

It was a solid outing by the C Grade against an undermanned FC Cover team but they did the work and put a solid 8 goals past them to get back to winning ways after a rough loss at Modbury the week prior.

Goal Scorers

Callum – 4 Goals

Lucas – 2 Goals

Amer – 1 Goal

Calab – 1 Goal

It’s a good result for the Foxes with 2 games remaining they will be looking to finish off the season strong with a couple more wins and some more goals to round out the season. The Foxes go up against Seaford Ranges next weekend away all the way down south.

League Round #15

Angle Vale Foxes C Grade vs Modbury Soccer Club

Date: 20th August 2023

Location: Away

In a game that started of the Sunday fixtures the C Grade went up against the Undefeated Modbury Team who were looking to remain that way and despite the best efforts of the Foxes Modbury would remain undefeated for the season with the Foxes going down 2 – 0.

The game would start off with both teams tussling for possession on the Astro pitch but it would be Modbury who would show their class, physicality and speed up front and would start peppering the Foxes goal with Kade pulling of some great saves to keep the Foxes in the game.

But eventually the Foxes would concede with the Modbury striker finding his way through the backline and getting his strike off and scoring past Kade.

Despite some great chances for the Foxes, they were unable to convert them into goals with Alex and Caleb having some close moments where they would find themselves 1 on 1 with the keeper but were unable to convert their chance past the keeper and this would eventually come back to haunt the Foxes.

With Modbury scoring an excellent team goal where they interlinked play well and would split the backline open and find their shot in the back of the net before the Foxes could do anything to stop it.

The game would stay at 2 – 0 despite some late chances by the Foxes but eventually they would succumb to the league leaders and be unable to break their perfect season.

Goal Scorers

N/A

The Foxes find themselves at home this weekend against Cove FC where they will be looking to get back to their winning ways and continue their push up the table.

League Round #13

Angle Vale Foxes C Grade vs Rowe Park

Date: 13th August 2023

Location: The Den

Sunday would start of with a very strong looking C Grade taking the field against Rowe Park and looking to get back into some goal scoring form and that’s exactly what they did coming away 9 – 1 winner.

The Foxes would start the game of exceptional strong and it would be an utter banger from Callum who would hit a shot of his left foot from the right-hand side of the 18 Yard box that would come off the inside of the post and go in.

Zac would step up over a freekick just outside the box not to long afterwards and would slot it past the keeper and double the Foxes lead.

And the foxes would keep piling the pressure on Rowe Park but they would pull a goal back and give themselves some hope with a clearance from a corner not being knocked away far enough and the Foxes would concede to the scramble inside the box.

But Remmie would restore the Foxes 2 goal lead in quick succession finishing his shot past the keeper inside the Box.

The Foxes would step it up a gear and keep pushing with Callum smacking in another 2 goals before the end of the first half leaving, he Foxes in a commanding position 5 – 1 up at half time.

The half time team talk was about being ruthless and that’s exactly what the Foxes were with Remmie getting on the scoresheet again in the 54th min which would be followed by Corey in the 63rd and then Zac in the 66th and the day would be rounded out by Corey getting his 2nd of the day and finishing off the Foxes smashing 9-1 win in what would prove to be a massive day for the Foxes.

Goal Scorers

Callum Beddall – 3 Goals

Corey Powell – 2 Goals

Remmie Schliwa – 2 Goals

Zac Mackinnon – 2 Goals

It was a great return to winning ways for the C Grade who will look to continue their goal scoring form next week as they take on Modbury Soccer Club and inflict their first defeat of the season.

League Round #12

Angle Vale Foxes C Grade vs Elizabeth Vale

Date: 23rd July 2023

Location: Away

The C Grade looked to take on our local rival Elizabeth Vale and it would be familiar faces lining up against eachother with both teams severely depleted thanks to injuries.

But it would be a literal game of 2 halves with both teams scoring 3 goals in separate halves of football and the game would end up a 3-3 draw.

The game would start off excellently for the Foxes with Jareth clearly faster than the Vale backline and he would burn old Foxes coach Brooko in a footrace in the first 5 minutes of the game and find himself inside the box 1 on 1 with the keeper and would slot the ball into the far corner giving the Foxes a quick fire 1 -0 lead.

And the Foxes pressure would continue to give the Vale backline issues and it wouldn’t take long for Jareth to score again this time with a worldie or a fluke depending on how you see it.

A throw in down the line would be flicked over the defender’s head and then a first-time left foot volley from the sideline would fly to the back post and the keeper would be unable to keep I out of his net giving the Foxes a 2- 0 lead.

And the chances would keep coming for the Foxes and Jareth especially with Callum getting in behind the Vale defensive line and playing a nice ball to Jareth’s feet who would be 1 on 1 with the Vale keeper and a simple side foot finish would see the C Grade up 3 – 0 before the half time whistle.

And it would be a few missed chances to end out the first half that would eventually come back to haunt the foxes in a game that should have been dead and buried it would turn around in the second half.

The Half time whistle actually hurt the Foxes with Brett going off at half time and the Foxes defense starting to get split open and played through with ease and it would be a bit of fast wing play that would see the Vale winger finish past Kade and give Vale some confidence to go on and get another and get themselves back into the game.

And a few minutes later this would happen with the Foxes giving away a penalty in the box and despite Kade making ANOTHER great penalty save it would be finished on the follow up from the Vale forward and reduce the deficit even further.

The momentum would be completely with Elizabeth Vale and it would result in a 3rd goal being scored and the score brought back level.

This would finally kick the Foxes back into gear and they would start to get back on the ball and create more and more chances and a half chance would fall to young Riley would would see his shot blocked by the Vale defender in the last second and right at the death of the game a Callum defensive block in the forward line would land at Jareth’s left foot and he would try to go across the keeper but the trailing foot of the Vale keeper would see the ball saved and spin out of the goal mouth and this would effectively lead the game to end as a well deserved draw for both teams.

Goal Scorers

Jareth Stocker– 3 Goals

The game was literally a game of 2 halves and with the number of injuries across the club the C Grade are feeling it the most with multiple players playing 2 if not 3 and some even 4 game games over the weekend.

The Foxes now have a break to recover from some of the injuries and will look to recover and get back on the training pitch ready for their next clash.

League Round #11

Angle Vale Foxes C Grade vs WA Raptors

Date: 16th July 2023

Location: The Den

The C Grade this week got their game back under control with a great come back effort in the last minute of the game to come away with a 2-2 draw against a much bigger and more physical WA Raptors side.

The Game started with the WA Raptors side showing their quality, size and control on the ball. They were able to out muscle and move the ball around the smaller Foxes easier than they anticipated.

It would be the Foxes who would have to rise to the challenge to compete against them and show the older Raptors boys what they were made of.

It would be a Calab goal in the first half that would get the Foxes ahead and stun the Raptors who thought they were in control.

The Raptors would keep pushing and would make a batch of clear chances to score but would be unable to put the ball in the net with young Jett pulling off some top-quality saves to maintain the Foxes lead.

But eventually the Raptors relentless waves of attacks would burst through and they would find the equalizer before half time.

After the break both teams would come back out firing but Raptors physicality would cause the Foxes problems again and they would take the lead early in the 2nd half giving the Foxes a mountain to climb.

To the credit of the Foxes, they would fight ALL GAME and it would be the last minute of regulation time that would prove to be the difference with the Foxes younger legs and energy proving to be too much for the Raptors to handle with a cross into the box finding young Amer’s head which would go over the keeper and into the goal in the most dramatic fashion to level the game for the Foxes.

This would prove to be the final play of the game and a huge effort for the Foxes would be rewarded.

Goal Scorers

Amer Fayazi – 1 Goal

Calab Meyer – 1 Goal

The Foxes deserved a point after their hard-fought battle with the WA Raptors and after a couple of weeks of rough results its good to see the C Grade getting back in amongst the points.

Next up they head away to Elizabeth Vale looking to get another win on the board.

League Round #10

Angle Vale Foxes C Grade vs West Beach

Date: 2nd July 2023

Location: Away

The C Grade had another rough weekend with a 6-1 smacking against an older more experienced and highly physical West beach side.

The Foxes C Grade are going through a bit of a transition with a lot of the kids being blooded into the team and another physical battle against an older stronger team took its toll on the C Grade with the West Beach team forcing their way through the Foxes backline 6 times.

The Foxes had another depleted team this week and were fielding a bunch of the younger kids coming through the ranks and the fight early on was there again with the Foxes getting on the score sheet from Callum who is also having a great run of form lately.

With a lot of missed opportunities for the Foxes it would be hard to come away with the win at a tough opponents ground like West Beach.

The Foxes will look to get back on the training park and get back to their earlier season form where they were smashing in goals for fun.

Goal Scorers

Callum Beddall – 1 Goal

The C Grade Foxes don’t have a game this week but will look to get back on the training park and put in the hard work to get ready for the 2nd half of the season and get back to their winning ways.

League Round #9

Angle Vale Foxes C Grade vs Para Hills United

Date: 25th June 2023

Location: Away

The rough Sunday for the Foxes started with the C Grade under the pump from the first whistle and eventually going down 7-1 in a disappointing loss for a team that had been on a good run of form in the last few weeks.

It was a rough game for the Foxes where a young C Grade showed its inexperience and control on the field against a veteran Para Hills United team.

It was the first game of the bad weather and pitch conditions would highlight the style of football that would be played all day and the Para Hills team took full advantage of their physicality and height on the field to beat the Foxes over the top and in the midfield with their strength.

The young Foxes would start the game in the lead though it would be a Callum goal that would get the Foxes off to the perfect start in the 6th minute of the game but that would be about the only highlight of the game for the Foxes.

The young core of the Foxes would continue fighting all day though and a rotation of young lads coming into the team shows the depth of the club coming up over for the next few years.

The Foxes fought hard all day and didn’t give up despite the scoreline and that’s the dedication required from a young team as they look to bounce back next week against West beach.

Goal Scorers

Callum Beddall – 1 Goal

The Foxes head away this weekend to West beach looking to get the win over West Beach after their opening game of the season 3-2 loss.

League Round #8

Angle Vale Foxes C Grade vs Seaford rangers

Date: 18th June 2023

Location: The Den

The C Grade would kick off the Sunday action in style coming away 4 – 1 winners against Seaford Rangers and it would be the young kids coming through that would shine.

It was a cold, wet and windy day at The Den and this would make the game hard for both teams. But what would separate the 2 teams would be a Riley solo goal where he would dribble past 3 defenders sitting them down in the box and finishing past the Seaford keeper giving the Foxes an early lead 25 mins in.

Both teams would play out a bit of a stalemate for the next 20 mins until a Callum goal would separate the 2 teams early in the 2nd half.

This would be his first of the day and it would open up the flood gates a bit for the Foxes with Calab getting on the score sheet not to long afterwards. The 3 – 0 lead wouldn’t hold for too long with Seaford getting a goal back but the Foxes defense wouldn’t let anymore in and would hold strong and take back control of the game leading to Liam rounding out the game with the Foxes 4th goal at the 80th minutes mark.

The result see’s the Foxes move level with Cove FC in 4th position and looking to continue their climb towards the top of the table.

Goal Scorers

Riley Joslin – 1 Goal

Callum Beddall – 1 Goal

Calab Meyer – 1 Goal

Liam Lord – 1 Goal

The Foxes will look to continue their good form as they go up against Para Hills United this weekend and close the gap on the top 2 in their league and pull clear in 3rd position.

League Round #7

Angle Vale Foxes C Grade vs The Cove

Date: 28th May 2023

Location: Away

With a tough fixture away at Cove it meant the C Grade were without reinforcements from the other Sunday teams meaning a lot of players were playing 2 games this weekend.

But the Foxes fight and desire was strong as always as it has been across all the Foxes squads this season and they came away with a solid 2 – 2 draw.

With a depleted C grade this weekend and half the guys backing up from Saturday

the pressure was on the young lads to step up and boy did they.

When old man Mark is holding down the CB spot you know the day is going to be a long one, but Luc would prove to be the strongest of the 2 and settle the game down early.

Despite the Foxes controlling the ball and tempo of play it would be a Cove counter attack that would catch the Foxes backline flat and split them open and the Cove striker would make no mistake putting them up 1 – 0.

This would turn up the intensity from the Foxes with Callum playing out of his normal position as a DM who would collect the ball and dribble through the Cove team and smash his shot past the Cover keeper to bring the game back level.

With the last chance of the half, it would be a lucky bounce that would find the Cover strikers feet who would steady himself and put his shot past Michael in goals to take a 2 – 1 lead into half time.

The half time team talk was all positive with the young lads of Riley, Charlie and Dante all putting in great shifts in the first half making the Foxes know they were still in the game for the 2nd half.

the second half was a bit more of a fight with the Cover dominating possession and trying to create chances but the back line held strong with Michael making multiple fantastic saves to keep the scoreline at 2 – 1.

The best chance of the half for the cove team would be when Michael would make a great diving save only to push the ball to the feet of the cove striker but as he shot there were three foxes on the line to save the day.

This effort to stop them from scoring lifted the Foxes and showed their determination to get a result from the game.

Wit a few minutes left to play a long ball out the back from Mark would find Caleb down the right wing who would take the ball to the touchline and cut the ball back to find young Riley in the box.

Riley would take a touch compose himself and smash his shot past the 6 Cove players in the box to give the Foxes a 2 – 2 draw.

A final minute corner from Cove would put pressure on the foxes but another excellent save from Michael would ensure the foxes left with a much-deserved point from their efforts.

It was a very impressive game from the foxes with so many players doubling up over the weekend and putting in a great shift to help the C Grade continue their great run of form.

Goal Scorers

Riley Joslin

Callum Beddall

The Foxes C Grade now have a few weeks off to recover before their next fixture. They will be hard at work on the training ground to ensure they are fit and ready to go into the next half of the season.

League Round #6

Angle Vale Foxes C Grade vs Modbury Jets

Date: 21st May 2023

Location: The Den

The C Grade have managed to find some consistency in the last few weeks and this week was no exception going up against the undefeated Modbury Jets team.

The Foxes showed their season long improvement coming away with a 1 – 1 Draw after an exceptional performance by the Foxes.

The game would be an open affair with both teams looking to get in behind each other’s defense with Modbury getting the better early chances but were unable to get past Michael in goal who held his line and made some excellent saves.

There would be a great attempt from morgan early in the game which would be saved by the Modbury keeper keeping both team’s level.

But 30 Mins into the game the Foxes defense would be broken open as the Modbury Jets would cut through the Foxes midfield and finish past Michael.

The half would end with the Foxes 1 – 0 down and a half time pep talk they would come out and assert themselves as the more dominant team as they started to create individual chances in transition.

But it would be an absolute screamer from Jamie Cash who is looking to make this a regular thing this season, he would chest a cross and hit a first-time volley of his left foot and smash it past the keeper to bring the Foxes level.

It would be a stale mate from here on out as both teams tried to create chances but were unable to break eachother down.

This would be the first points all season the Modbury Jets team had dropped and would set a precedent for the day with close hard-fought games.

Goal Scorers

Jamie Cash – 1 Goal

The result see the Foxes move up to 6th position on the table as they look this weekend to get a win over Cove FC and continue their climb.

League Round #4

Angle Vale Foxes C Grade vs Rowe Park

Date: 7th May 2023

Location: Away

Back-to-Back wins for the C Grade see the Foxes move up to 5th position on the table after an excellent 2 – 1 win over Rowe Park.

The game would start off slow with the Weather and pitch conditions playing havoc on the style of football the Foxes like to play.

With passes skidding and bouncing all over the place making ball control hard and then the muddy spots making grip on the pitch even harder.

The foxes would find themselves behind within 15 minutes when a 50 / 50 tackle was lost and an easy through ball was played between the defense for the Rowe Park winger to run onto and slot past Kade the keeper.

But this would rally the Foxes as they gained control of the midfield back and would start to create a flurry of chances.

Eventually the breakthrough would come in the 32nd minute when a free kick would get flicked onto to Alex who would gather the ball and round the keeper and slot home into the open net.

This would kick start the attacking control the foxes would have for the rest of the half.

Half time would see the Foxes make a slight personnel change and it would lead to further control from the Foxes and an early attack with Alex dribbling past the Rowe Park defense and sitting the keeper down and squaring the ball to Joey would see him score the 2nd for the Foxes.

The rest of the game the Foxes would create some half chances but were unable to convert them but it would be a defensive effort from the Foxes that would lock up the game and close out the 2 – 1 win scoring themselves their first back-to-back wins for the season.

Goal Scorers

Alex Graziani – 1 Goal

Joey Sackey – 1 Goal

It was a great game and an excellent start to the Sunday for the Foxes. The C Grade now have a bye this weekend which allows them to get on the training pitch and prepare for a huge game against Modbury in 2 weeks’ time.

League Round #3

Angle Vale Foxes C Grade vs Elizabeth Vale

Date: 30thApril 2023

Location: The Den

The C Grade came into the weekend looking to redeem the Foxes after the Saturday demolition that occurred and the fight, quality and control they showed to get their first win of the season was huge!!

The c Grade were out there looking for an improved result after a disappointing game the week before against WA Raptors.

Coach Dave had the boys working hard on the training ground throughout the week in preparation for the game and it showed from the first minute of the game with the Foxes battling a bigger and more experienced Elizabeth Vale team.

But it was the youthfulness and quality on the ball that shone through for the Foxes a they came away 2 – 1 winners recording their first win of the season.

The game didn’t start off well though with the Foxes going down 1 goal early in the first half but it showed the first and resilience the Foxes have and how much it meant to not lose against a local rival.

It would be one of the youngest players in the team who would bring the Foxes back level with Hudson winning the ball as he would collect the ball from the right midfield channel and cut inside on his preferred left foot and smash an excellent shot into the top corner.

This is something Hudson is known for and pulling it out against adult opposition is proving how far he has come in a short period of time.

After this goal the foxes would lift their levels again and it would be another junior player Riley who would use his pace and beat the LB and get to the goal line and cross the ball into the box and over the keeper for a Foxes veteran Callum to head home from 5 yards out and give the foes a 2 – 1 lead.

The 2nd half would see the Foxes dig deep defensively and work together as a unit and keep the Vale team out of shooting range for a lot of the game but it would be the 3 senior units in the team Ryan, Dave and Alex Jones who would stand up and help lead the young team to their first win of the season.

Goal Scorers

Hudson Ocampo

Callum Beddall

It was an excellent game from all the Foxes on the field and a redemption game following the previous weeks poor performance at WA Raptors.
The Foxes will look to continue this trend on the training park this week and then into the weekends game against Rowe Park.

League Round #2

Angle Vale Foxes C Grade vs WA Raptor

Date: 23rd April 2023

Location: Away

A tale of 2 halves for the Men’s C Grade. With a great first half going in 1 – 1 but then a drop in effort and fitness and eventually getting run over 5 – 1 by an experience WA Raptors team.

The game started off excellently with young Lucas continuing his goal scoring form banging in his 4 goal of the season and continuing to show off his talent and confidence he has build up this season.

But it wasn’t long before our experienced CB Jonesy made a bad sliding tackle and gave away a Penalty which would level the scores for the teams heading into half time.

After a half time break and chat the teams, mentality completely changed and not for the best.

The experience of the WA Raptors showed through and started to move the youthfulness of the Foxes around the park and play smarter in the heat than the foxes were.

It would turn out the Raptors team would score a further 4 goals and eventually walk away from the game with a good win and the result made the effort of the Foxes look diminished.

There are plenty of good signs for the Foxes but a lift of intensity, effort and quality will start to yield results.

Goal Scorers

Lucas Harris-Semmler

This weekend see’s the C Grade start the triple header against local rivals Elizabeth Vale and the C Grade will be looking at the game as a great chance to get their first win of the season and submit Elizabeth Vale to the bottom of the table.

League Round #1

Angle Vale Foxes C Grade vs West Beach

Date: 16th April 2023

Location: The Den

This was the first proper season hitout for the Sunday C Grade and it started off with a rough first half but a better showing in the 2nd half allowed for the Foxes to get back into the game and showed the quality and depth of the Foxes coming through.

The game started off rough with the Foxes going 1-0 down inside 2 minutes when West Beach capitalized on a sleeping Foxes defense and an inexperienced keeper in goals.

The game didn’t get much better for the Foxes with a 2nd goal in not long afterwards making the game that much harder for the young, disjointed and inexperienced Foxes group.

As the game went on though the Foxes started to grow into the game and started to create opportunities and linkup play alongside one another.

But before the end of the first half the Foxes found themselves on the back foot again and conceding a 3rd goal to head into half time 3 – 0 down and looking for some inspiration.

After a half time talk to determine what was going wrong and where changes needed to be made the Foxes came out Firing and found that inspiration in the 71st minute thanks to a trademark Jamie Cash half field effort where he smashed a shot goal ward from the halfway line and chipped the keeper, this was his 2nd long range effort in 2 days for he Foxes veteran.

This lifted the Foxes spirits and gave them improved fight and it didn’t take them long to claw another one back with cult hero and club icon Matty Rasul getting on the score sheet with his trademark ridiculous kind of goals where he cut in from the left-hand side of the field and curled a long range effort into the top corner past the keeper.

This gave the Foxes something to fight towards for the last 10 minutes of the game but they were unable to get another goal back.

Its encouraging signs for the foxes who showed some of the youth and quality the club has and the amount of run the team has.

Goal Scorers

Jamie Cash

Matt Rasul

It was a tough game for the Foxes but a lot of encouraging signs coming back from 3 – 0 down to give an older and more experienced West Beach team a freight.
A few more weeks of performances like this together and the C Grade will be in with another good season.

The c Grade head away to WA Raptors this weekend looking to start better than they did this weekend and get their first win of the season on the board.
