The Angle Vale Soccer Club is looking to fill a new role within the club for the start of the 2026 season.

The successful applicant will start work in the 2nd half of the 2025 season in preparation for the beginning of 2026.

Role Outline

The Sporting and Technical Director will play a major role in the club helping create the footballing style, pathway and ethos of the club as we move forward. The S&TD will oversee everything to do with the Youth & Senior setup of the club from 2026 onwards. From appointments of coaching and assistant coaching staff, through to training plans and trial matches the S&TD will be the pivot point of football at the Angle Vale Soccer Club.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities for the S&TD

• To create a pre-season plan in preparation for the upcoming 2026 season.
• Identify the talent the Angle Vale Soccer Club currently has and look to build a suitable playing style around key individuals at the club.
• Create a 2026 trial plan and hierarchy to help acquire talented players to achieve success.
• Be able to recruit suitable individuals for all levels of Youth & Senior football.
• Help train and upskill the coaching staff at the club whilst looking for external talent to supplement the coaches and fill voids in the club.
• Produce a training plan suitable for youth development built with the senior goals in mind. Similar playstyle, ethos, and training drills to build a playing culture at the club.
• Oversee the senior weekend games and assist the Head coach with selections, gameday decisions and training adjustments.

Report to

You will report directly to the President of the Angle Vale Soccer Club monthly with updates and requirements as the season plays out.

Decisions to be made

The S&TD will be in complete control of the football across the club. Technical decisions with coaches, player promotion and relegation between teams and recruitment will all be part of the job.

Additional Information:

This is a highly dedicated role at the club and will mean there is a lot of hours put into the pre-season plans and then on field plans. You are expected to be at the club during the key training nights to help assist coaches and players as required. You will be required to help in the YCC competition throughout the year, providing guidance to the youth coaches and assistance about style changes and players. You are required to be at the Senior games to aid the coaching core with the 3 games over the weekend and provide gametime decisions and support from the technical area.

Qualifications and Experience

This is a role for a person who has years of coaching experience at the highest levels and is looking to move into a more directorial role. Being able to identify talent, coach talent within skilled individuals and help nurture a playing group is key. Being a personable character with dedication and the motivation to succeed and always be learning is a sought-after trait. A person who can gather the respect of the coaching and playing group and maintain a strong focus on the future is vital.
